        <p>The National REDD Plus Strategy (NRS) builds upon existing relevant policies. The building block of the Strategy is based upon the best practices related to forest management systems in the country. This Strategy is updated in line with Malaysia's Nationally Determined Contribution under the Paris Agreement.</p>
        <p>The objective of forest management is to ensure the continuity of product flow while conserving complex ecosystems and flora and fauna. Malaysia has implemented a selective harvesting system.</p>

        <h2>Main Objectives</h2>
        <ul>
            <li>To promote consistency and synergies in the implementation of climate change, forest and biodiversity related policies between federal and state levels</li>
            <li>To measure, report and verify (MRV) REDD Plus results as part of efforts to achieve the NDC</li>
            <li>To develop a sustainable financing mechanism for REDD Plus implementation</li>
        </ul>

        <h2>REDD Plus Actions</h2>
        <p>By implementing the Strategy, Malaysia will contribute to:</p>
        <ul>
            <li>Maintaining 50% forest cover</li>
            <li>Achieving the NDC pledge under the Paris Agreement (2020-2030)</li>
            <li>Achieving National Policy on Biological Diversity (2016-2025)</li>
            <li>Forest policies</li>

            <li>Identifying the primary drivers of deforestation and forest degradation</li>
            <li>Identifying areas of synergy between policies at national and state levels</li>
            <li>Enhancing the transparency and robustness of the existing MRV system</li>

            <li>Enhancing institutional arrangement</li>
            <li>Developing sustainable financing system</li>
            <li>Collaborating with relevant stakeholders</li>
