      <p>The Malaysia REDD Plus Safeguards Information System (MY-SIS) is a national system developed to provide
        information on how the Cancun Safeguards are addressed and respected in Malaysia throughout the implementation of
        REDD Plus activities.</p>
      <h3>Purpose of MY-SIS</h3>
      <p>MY-SIS has two primary purposes:</p>
      <ul>
        <li><strong>To ensure the sustainable management of Malaysia's natural forest</strong> - MY-SIS monitors and
          reports on how REDD Plus activities contribute to sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and
          the protection of indigenous peoples and local communities' rights.</li>
        <li><strong>To meet the UNFCCC requirements for results-based payments</strong> - MY-SIS provides the necessary
          information and documentation to demonstrate that Malaysia is addressing and respecting the Cancun Safeguards,
          which is a prerequisite for receiving results-based payments.</li>
      </ul>
      <h3>Development Process</h3>
      <p>MY-SIS was developed through a series of consultations involving various stakeholders, including federal and
        state government agencies, indigenous peoples and local communities, civil society organizations, and academic
        institutions. This participatory approach ensures that MY-SIS reflects the diverse perspectives and interests of
        all relevant stakeholders.</p>
